Pringle is a venerable company. Founded in 1815, it is still going. That can't be said of many companies, especially in the garment business. They have a lovely product of fine quality. But that's still a long and remarkable run. Now Montaldo's isn't still around, as it closed in 1995. It was a fine ladies regional specialty store, and as there was one in Cincinnati, I do run into the label occasionally. Braemar seems to be gone, as I can only find that the trademark in the USA has been cancelled. To bad, as this ivory cashmere cardigan with pleated ribbon trim is wonderful - if they were making these today..... These are so season appropriate. And in todays terms, can be dressed up or down for work or an evening out. Cashmere is warm, but so soft and easy on the skin that as the season gets colder, I am looking at my sweaters with renewed appreciation. If you haven't given a vintage sweater a try, now is the perfect time.
